PATĒTISKĀ. PAR REDZAMO VALODU / PATHETIQUE. ON VISIBLE LANGUAGE
In "Pathetique. On Visible Language." we explore language and sound as a visual category. The audience listens to the last symphony No 6 by Piotr Tchaikovsky and experiences its interpretation in sign language. The conductor lifts his hands to create a sound, the deaf person lifts his hands to create language. The standard communication and perception patterns are challenged as the deaf guides the hearing one through Tchaikovsky’s score.
